MAIMANE-MINISTERS Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane today launched a court application challenging the president for keeping the minister in the Presidency for Women Affairs Ministers Bathabile Dlamini and Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba in his cabinet. Maimane said his party will go to the North Gauteng High Court to seek a declaratory order, claiming that the appointment of Bathabile Dlamini, should be deemed irregular unconstitutional and unlawful and that Malusi Gigaba had lied under oath. TEXT: In a media briefing held today DA leader Mmusi Maimane said it is unfathomable that President Cyril Ramaphosa can keep the two ministers in his cabinet. The party has given the president until March next year to respond. Maimane further said president Ramaphosa has been served with court papers. He said the two ministers cannot remain in cabinet as they have been found to have lied under oath in court cases involving their work.
